Abraham Hurtado
Abraham Hurtado (Murcia, Spain). Artist and researcher. Founder and Artistic Director AADK Spain. Performer, director and independent curator.
As an artist, his work mainly explores the notions of a body in crisis, space and presence. His work has been exhibited in several countries: the Biennial of the Image of Buenos Aires, Fundaçao Vieira da Silva of Lisbon, Cultural Center of Belém in Lisbon, Moderna Museet of Stockholm, La Conservera and Centro Párraga in Murcia, among others.
As a curator, “Dissected” stands out in Mica Moca Project Berlin, three editions of the “Unexpected” Berlin Festival, Fenomens Festival in Barcelona, IBAFF Film Festival 2016 -experimental section, International Festival of Contemporary Dance 2018 Celebrations of Lisbon – international section, mainly.
He is currently resuming his artistic practices with “Body in Crisis” 2018/2020, finding new methodologies and presentation formats of his works made in the last 10 years together with a group of invited artists. He is an advisory member of the Roberto Cimetta Foundation and the artistic team of TanzKongress Germany 2019. Since 2005 he collaborates with the artist Meg Stuart as a performer, assistant director and curatorial consultant in several artistic projects of the company Meg Stuart / Damaged Goods.
